“I was a reluctant client. While leading a group from my bicycle club, and riding on the sidewalk, I was hit by a car exiting from a local development. My wife had seen ads for local law firms, and insisted we find an attorney to represent us. Before we even met him, or he knew any specifics, he wanted me to sign-up with a chiropractor and to start treatment. I couldn’t leave their office fast enough! This reinforced my ideas about lawyers; they were all modern versions of a snake-oil salesman and I wanted no part!
I next found a lawyer in Florida who specialized in bicycle accidents. He was sympathetic and an avid rider himself, but felt that my case would be too difficult to pursue. Flash forward a few weeks, and a friend suggested that I speak to the firm of Murray Guari. He had worked with them in the past and only had great things to say. My wife encouraged me to overcome my doubts and to make an appointment. That was the best decision I ever made!
I first met Scott Murray in his beautiful office in West Palm Beach on December 4th (2024), two months after the accident. He was amazing and listened carefully to my description of the accident. He took copious notes, asked pertinent and relevant questions and showed great empathy for my situation. Riding my new electric assist bike had been my passion since retiring to Florida, and now it was off limits. My quality of life was changed forever when I was hit by that car. Scott understood completely, and strongly believed I had a legitimate and winnable case. After our meeting I believed him as well.
From that moment on, I was no longer inundated with medical bills or follow-up; Scott managed all of it. With the help of some wonderful staff, and Brenda Sheffield in particular, my bills became their everyday concern. When questions arose, I would make a quick call to Scott. Never, in all of the years I had been in business, did I ever receive such timely and helpful responses. Day, night, weekends, holidays, I would have answers immediately. I literally felt like I was their only client and Scott and Brenda were always there to help; and they always were!
I am not a lawyer and don’t understand the intricacies of Florida law. In general I like to do things on my own and not rely on professionals. They often disappoint me. Working with Scott and the Murray Guari firm, changed that. They accomplished something I thought was impossible and I had believed the deck was stacked against us. Scott proved me wrong! “On Sunday before Christmas, 2019, I went out to the grocery store. I never made it. It was almost dark as I pulled out of my development onto A-1-A and was doing the speed limit of 40 mph when a car traveling in excess of 100mph rear ended me. I remembered nothing until two men pulled me out of my truck. In spite of being restrained by my seat belt and with all of the appropriate air bags deploying, I had multiple lacerations on my face, arms, hands and the back of my head, and neck and back and other injuries including fractures.
