Do bicyclists have the same rights as a car in Florida?
Bicycles are considered vehicles and Florida law treats them the same. So as a bicyclist, you have the same rights to use the roadways as cars do, but at the same time, that means you also have the same responsibilities and must follow all the same traffic rules. That includes stopping at stop signs and yielding the right of way when entering any road. Because bicyclists share the same roadway, for their own safety, they should ride as close as possible to the right edge of the roadway. Remember, safety first.
