Over 18 Years of Helping Clients when they need It Most
Knee surgery (partial knee surgery or total knee replacement) is one of the most popular surgeries in the United States. It is after all the largest join in the body and it does support most of one’s weight.
Most knee replacement patients are between the ages of 60 and 80 years old due to wear and tear and arthritis, but many younger patients may also require surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) or a torn meniscus due to a sports injury playing basketball, soccer or tennis. If you have difficulty in bending, squatting, kneeling, and walking or any of the knee issues referenced above, you may require a knee replacement.
Up until know, when body parts like the knee begin to wear out, it seems that science and technology have always been there to help us with a replacement. While advances continue to develop, manufacturers must be certain that their products perform as advertised; otherwise it will create serious issues for patients in the future.
Over the years, several different knee replacements have failed including Smith and Nephew; and Sulzer which have resulted in a whole host of health issues for patients. The most recent knee recall is against Zimmer regarding their high-flex and gender solution devices.
