Researchers found that using voice-controlled technology still provides a distraction to the car or truck driver that may rise to the level of being potentially dangerous. This is of concern as cars, both luxury and mainstream, continue to employ more and more technology that allows the person to interact with the car and its controls via hands-free technology (voice controls).

While it may not be illegal to use all of the technology at our disposal, we should – nevertheless – use caution when operating a motor vehicle. One should always try to provide his or her full attention to the road and to the task of driving- not to talking on the phone, listening to/writing e-mails or text messages, or other not vital activities that can cause auto accidents.

The danger comes down to simple math, a car moving at 45 mph travels 66 feet per second.  If you take your eyes off the road for just two seconds you have traveled 132 feet. The quicker you are going the less time you have to react to things happening in front of you. Thus, it is always best to focus your attention to the task at hand ?” driving.
