New roof regulations have been put in place by NHTSA – a federal governing body – and consumers have been advocating for these changes for more than 30 years. According to a recent report, the strengthened regulations on vehicle, automobile and car roofs will save 135 lives, prevent more than 1,000 injuries and add up to $1.4 billion to the cost of new cars each year.
